Criteria for Membership


1. Expertise in one or more of the following or related areas:
  • Statistics/Informatics
    • Trials and/or Experimental Design
    • Categorical and Survival Analysis
    • Multivariate Analysis
    • Linear and Non-Linear Regression Methods
    • Linear and Mixed Linear Models/Longitudinal Analysis
    • Advanced Informatics- Genomic/Microarray/Proteomic Analysis
    • Pharmacokinetics/Pharmacogenomics
    • Nonparametrics/Robust Methods
    • Epidemiological Methods
    • Mathematical Modeling
    • Data Mining
    • Imaging and Spatial Analysis
    • Bayesian Analysis
  • Database Development/Management and Compliance
    • Statistical Programming and/or Computation
    • Computer Programming and/or Web Design
    • Data Coordinating Center Organization/Methodology
    • Data Collection Form Design
    • Database Design and Management
    • Data Quality Control/Assurance

2. Willingness to work collaboratively with center administrative core, other members, and users to enhance the research, service and educational goals of the institution.

Benefits of Membership:
  • Increase funding opportunities by identifying and routing projects that fit member’s areas of expertise with the needs of researchers at the University of Kansas and the region (especially the local life sciences initiative).
  • Work collaboratively on projects outside your department, school, etc. facilitating collaboration across laboratory, divisional, departmental and school lines.
  • Network with colleagues from which to request assistance and in return provide assistance in varying areas of expertise.
  • Enhance communication and collaboration among those in different fields with similar mathematical, statistical and computational expertise.
  • Enhance communication and collaboration with basic, translational and clinical scientists/investigators.
  • Enhanced intellectual capital for the design and analysis of studies, resulting in better abstracts, articles, and grant applications.
