Data Interpretation

The biostatistician will explain the results of statistical tests performed on the study data. Most often, this will be based on an analysis performed by the biostatistician, but at times the biostatistician may also provide support by explaining the results of an analysis performed by an outside entity (eg, the biostatistician may explain why a result is invalid as the method of analysis used is inappropriate). The biostatistician will work with the investigator to explain their study results in a non-technical (statistically) manner, although this will be based on many factors that often include a formal assessment of the assumptions of the statistical methods being utilized, among other things.
