Grant and/or Protocol Development/Sample Size Calculation

The biostatistician can assist with writing sections of grants and protocols pertaining to the study design, data management, data analysis, data monitoring, and interpretation of the results. Typically, the biostatistician will also assist in determining the study design or verify that the study design is adequate to meet the specific aims of the project prior to composing the supporting text for a grant or protocol, which often includes a justification for the size of the study (ie, power, precision, or sample size calculations).
